Part 2: "Do horses want to be ridden"?
Thoughts:
"Why does a horse have to be ridden?
Why do humans feel that horses have to be ridden?
Horses were ridden in the past because it was a necessity for warfare and for agriculture.
But now horses are primarily for recreation.
Humans think horses like to be ridden; but if you ask the horses, I think they would much rather be pets, best friends, and companions.
Horses want to be loved on and groomed and exercised and enjoyed.
But I rarely meet a horse that wants to be ridden.
I think that is the human projecting their emotions and feelings onto their horse.
The human thinks because they personally enjoy riding so much, (galloping across the field), that the horses enjoy it just as much.
However, I think the horses would much prefer to be naked and galloping across the field.
Perhaps we should reevaluate what makes the horse happy.
And start a shift towards non-riding horses as companions.
There’s an enormous amount of equine therapy, joy, contentment, and relaxation to gain just from being around horses. They offer a Zen vibe and energy to calm and relax a human..."
